My Vasectomy Part 6 - It's Official ...

Well, I am officially documented sperm-free. The results of two separate samples taken a month apart both showed zero sperm.

When the woman from my doctor's office called with the news I asked her if that meant I would get a certificate or something? She laughed and said that if I sent them a certificate they'd be happy to sign it.

I just had them send me the lab results instead.

Well done you!

I remember the enormous sense of freedom that I felt when I got my all-clear. I was already in a committed relationship where we'd made the decision that condoms wouldn't be necessary as a protection against STDs, only against unwanted pregnancy.

Waiting was agonising but - oh! - the sheer, unmitigated joy when we threw away the condoms :)

Enjoy!

Thanks Ro, and welcome to my blog!

I'm very much with you on this. I value commitment, not one-night stands, and I'm not temperamentally equipped to deal with multiple partners (either mine or hers).

Very few non-adulterers can understand these nuances.

Being another adulterer of a certain age, I can understand. After my mishap last year, having my IUD has made a huge difference to those times when my rather erratic cycle goes completely AWOL.
